Terms of Use

These terms govern every visit, search, and use of content on Ringgold County Criminal History. Using the website means accepting the conditions stated here. A visitor who does not agree should stop using it.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website is not affiliated with a government body, is not a private investigation firm, and is not a consumer reporting agency. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or other Fair Credit Reporting Act purposes. Its role is limited to helping visitors locate Ringgold County and Iowa record resources.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government connection. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve a file, conduct an official check, or submit a filing for a visitor.

The content identifies custodians such as the Ringgold County Sheriff, Iowa District Court, Iowa DCI, and the Iowa Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect to tools operated by outside providers.

2. Rules for Using This Site

A visitor must not use the website to:

  • Interfere with availability or prevent another visitor's access
  • Deploy a bot, scraper, or automated collection tool against the pages
  • Obtain unauthorized access to a system or account
  • Make a credit, employment, housing, or insurance decision
  • Threaten, stalk, intimidate, or harass another person
  • Violate a federal, Iowa, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information from the site or a linked tool may not be used to stalk, threaten, harass, intimidate, or discriminate. Iowa Code chapter 692A limits use of Iowa Sex Offender Registry information, and misuse against a listed person can carry criminal consequences. Registry data supports lawful public-safety awareness, not vigilantism or blacklisting.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Ringgold County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not create a credit report, background check, or consumer report. Data from the site or a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Make any other choice regulated by the FCRA
  • Determine eligibility for a program, permit, or license
  • Set insurance terms or judge creditworthiness
  • Evaluate a housing applicant
  • Make an employment decision

A regulated purpose requires an authorized, FCRA-compliant provider and the procedures applicable to that purpose.

5. No Legal Advice

The content is not legal advice and cannot determine how a warrant, charge, conviction, or Iowa expungement provision applies to a person. Consult an Iowa-licensed attorney for legal advice.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are provided "as is." No warranty promises that:

  • An outside search result is complete or correctly matched
  • Every page is free from errors or security flaws
  • The service will remain uninterrupted
  • Every fact is current, complete, and accurate

Charges, dismissals, sealing orders, and expungements can change official records. Gaps and delays are unavoidable, and no site content is an official statement from a court, sheriff, or agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to courts, sheriff pages, state agencies, legal resources, and outside search services. The destination controls its content, privacy practices, fees, and availability. Review its terms before use because this website is not responsible for those services.

8. Intellectual Property

Ringgold County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, graphics, logos, and code. Copying, adapting, or distributing that material requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site is not liable for damage arising from its use, including reliance on information from a page or linked service.

10. Indemnification

A user agrees to indemnify and hold the operator harmless from claims, demands, and actions caused by that user's conduct or breach of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

Iowa law governs these terms. Any dispute connected with use of the site must be brought in a court located in Iowa. Iowa Code chapters 22 and 692 separately govern public-record access and criminal-history dissemination by public bodies.

12. Changes to These Terms

The operator may revise these terms. A revision takes effect when the updated text is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or ended at any time, with or without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in force. The affected language will be adjusted only as far as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
